New Season to come

Spring coming to Erie, PA has been a big event of my year. First, I would kindly like to remind everyone that Erie had snow ever since November or so until the beginning of April. During these warm days, the campus actually looks a lot like the photographs they sent me in the acceptance package. Well, when I look at the promotional website of Behrend College, I cannot find this being mentioned anywhere... This has just somewhat been included in everyone's tuition, I suppose.
Winter always leaves me kind of sad and tired, so this year, I got those little colourful gel pictures to stick on my window. And voila! the world looked much better.
And then I think of God, the creator of all this, and have to admit that in contrast to his expectations, I am not always that contented with what is in front of me. It is sometimes a bit challenging to find God in two feet of snow and zero Fahrenheit. Surprisingly, it seems much easier to see him in all the buds and leaves and birds...
So at times like winter, I tend to have these questions on my mind, like ' Where is God in those two feet of snow?' and looking back, I can see that God is always there, never leaves for any reason. I open the Bible, pray with friends, pray alone, dream, play, sing, work... He is there! Perhaps my blindness overcomes my heart at times or I can only see at times.... Would I ever notice those buds without having six months of snow before? Would I be so eager to capture the beauty of God's creation? Would I know what being joyful means without ever experiencing sadness? - probably not that much.
